5 Perfect Girls Trip in California

Lindsay Paige Stein

If California is calling your name, it may be time to plan that desired girls’ getaway you and your pals have been talking about. Along the California coast, you’ll find various beach towns to choose from. Even inland, California has no shortage of girl gang-worthy outings. Here’s our list of the Golden State’s best destinations for a girlfriends’ getaway.

Palms Springs

It may be in the desert, but Palm Springs is one of the coolest places in California with its trendy vibes and relaxing atmosphere. The desert climate makes Palm Springs an ideal vacation destination when it’s colder elsewhere in the country. It’s a great weekend escape with your girlfriends with tons of restaurants, bars, and pools to lounge by.

Where to Stay:

For a colorful and photo-worthy hotel, stay at The Saguaro and enjoy its amazing pool. Located in the Coachella Valley amongst mountains, the boutique property is close to all of the downtown action. For a quirky and hipster hotel vibe, book a stay at The Ace Hotel. The property’s “Feel Good Spa” has a full service menu of organic treatments using various crystals like rose quartz to sooth muscles and increase energy. You can’t go wrong with booking a comfortable Airbnb on your own to save some money and gain some space.

What to Pack:

You’ll want to stay cool, so pack the The Marina Bikini Top with The Diagonal Mid Rise Bikini Bottom. Both have great coverage so that you can swim all day in comfort.

San Diego

With its gorgeous weather, delicious food and lively bars, San Diego has something for every personality type. Foodies will love the Little Italy Farmers Market and nature enthusiasts will be drawn to La Jolla and the adorable seals that hangout there.

Where to Stay:

The Pendry is an elegant boutique hotel located downtown near all of the restaurants and bars. The hotel’s restaurant, Provisional Kitchen, is the perfect spot to grab your girlfriends and sip on a unique selection of mimosa flights like rainbow sherbet, blood orange and blackberry mojito. Upstairs on the rooftop you’ll find the pool with a full-service restaurant and bar overlooking the city that’s bustling on the weekends. Don’t leave without taking advantage of the hotel’s Champagne vending machine!

What to Pack:

You’ll most likely be found poolside in San Diego and The Sidestroke is perfect for pool days. The All Buttoned Up Cover-Up is a good option to throw on when you head to lunch.

Napa Valley

Napa Valley is home to Michelin-starred restaurants, boutique shopping, hot air balloon rides, and cozy wine country digs. It’s a food and wine lovers paradise. The valley is made up of small towns, each full of personality and unique features. If you’re looking to bond with the girls over quality wine and good conversations, this is the spot for you.

Where to Stay:

Napa Valley is a luxury traveler’s dream come true. Stay at Castalgia Ranch for the ultimate retreat with rustic, relaxing vibes. Here, you can wake up and indulge in a full breakfast on the outdoor deck, cycle through the wine country, horseback ride, and practice yoga while immersed in nature. For a more unique stay, Airbnb has a treehouse cottage available that can fit up to six of your best girlfriends.

What to Pack:

If you’re planning on doing yoga with the girls, pack The Sun Shield Legging with The Fused River Bikini Top. You can even hop in the pool afterwards since the outfit works for both swimming and exercising.

There’s endless girly things to do in the bustling city of Los Angeles. From first-class shopping on Rodeo Drive to brunching in the Hollywood hills, it’s hard to be bored. Round up your girlfriends and take them for a glamorous weekend they will cherish forever.

Where to Stay:

If you’d prefer to stay near the beach then Hotel Casa del Mar in Santa Monica is a great option. The hotel is a seven-minute drive from the town’s best and most elegant eateries and shops. The seaside pool is stunning and there’s an eco-minded wellness spa you can relax at. In the downtown district, The NoMad is close to the metro and near the Museum of Contemporary Art. Its rooftop pool has sweeping views of Los Angeles, an outdoor cafe and cocktail bar.

What to Pack:

Since Los Angeles is super trendy, boasting The Tie Belted Cove will fit into the scene properly. Also, pack The Globetrotter Maxi Dress and you’ll be all set for brunch during the daytime.

From sophisticated cocktail bars to urban spas, San Francisco has it all. You can do everything from cycling across the Golden Gate Bridge to shopping near Union Square with the girls. The city is a great place to enjoy quaint, Victorian-era hotels and lots of walking. Seafood lovers will love this city, so if you have a foodie friend be sure to order the local shrimp, oysters or crab.

Where to Stay:

At the Fairmont San Francisco you can experience luxury that’s right next to the bustling downtown. It’s centrally located so you can easily get to the Financial District, Union Square or Fisherman’s Wharf by cable car. For a more boutique experience, the Argonaut Hotel is a refined space in a restored warehouse with complimentary wine receptions. They even have free bike rentals so you and the gals can give your feet a walking break!

What to Pack:

When walking up the hills throughout San Francisco it would be smart to pack a comfortable pair of sneakers and The Globetrotter Dress.

Grab your best girlfriends and book that ticket.
