What inspired you to launch Sundaily?

As a dermatology researcher, I was struck by the role environmental factors like sun, pollution, and stress play in skin health and aging and the need for a more holistic approach. In order to help support the skin’s ability to fight back against these stressors, we sought to create products that could help skin from within- hence, Sundaily gummies! We follow  science, so our products only use ingredients that have been tested for their skincare benefits in humans, with results published in peer-reviewed academic journals. Additionally, we’re committed to disclosing every ingredient in our gummies, using organic ingredients whenever possible, and the gummies are vegan.

What do you find most rewarding?

I became a researcher and entrepreneur with the goal of discovering and creating things that are meaningful, and I’ve been fortunate to be able to that. Even though starting a business from scratch is tough, it’s been really rewarding to see what started as an idea on a whiteboard become an actual product.

What are you most proud of?

I’m really proud of our B corp certification at Sundaily, which is an independent validation of our company’s commitment to running a socially and environmentally sustainable business.

Let’s talk about “going places.” What’s on the horizon for you?

We’re growing a lot at Sundaily! We just launched in clean beauty retailer Credo, and are also focused on developing our product pipeline!

Tell us about the last adventure you took:

My last adventure was a solo trip to Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. I’d always been fascinated by the culture and natural landscape of Southeast Asia. I had built it up in my mind for so long, and it still far exceeded my expectations.

What is a destination you’ve been to that you’re always telling people, “You have to go there!”?

Mexico City! It has such creative energy. I come from a family of artists, and though I unfortunately didn’t get the gene, I did inherit a love of art. Anytime I visit a city I like to check out what local contemporary artists are creating. Mexico City was one of the most stunning cities I’ve been to in that regard.  Not to mention fantastic food.

What do you never travel without?

Sleeping mask and ear plugs.

What’s your favorite Summersalt travel piece?

The Sidestroke! I was a distance swimmer in high school, so I love that The Sidestroke is super cute and functional for actual swimming.

Fill in the blank. I fell in love with traveling when:

I went to Istanbul in college. It was my first time traveling with friends, and we had no plan other than a plane ticket. I loved the sense of discovery and wonder.

Got any go-to podcasts, albums, or books for passing time on a plane?

I love audiobooks to get me through a long flight! Two great ones are Stephen Fry’s hilarious narration of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and on a more serious note David Wallace-Wells’ The Uninhabitable Earth, it’s a pretty eye-opening account of climate change and its impact on society.

Hydration! The first thing I do when I get to my destination is shower, moisturize, and down a bottle of water. It really makes a difference.
