Giuliana Rancic’s Guide to a Dreamy Vacation on Capri

Annie Gabillet

The isle of Capri off Italy’s Amalfi Coast holds a special place in Giuliana Rancic’s heart. “Bill and I were married there in 2007 and we absolutely love everything about it,” she told us. From swimming in the Blue Grotto to dining under lemon trees, Giuliana said time on the island feels like a dream. In fact, Giuliana’s love for Capri goes way back: she spent many of her childhood summers with her family on Capri, which is easy to access from Naples, her birthplace and the city where she still has her childhood home.

It makes perfect sense then that Giuliana used Capri as the inspiration for her new collaboration with Summersalt. The limited edition Giuluana Rancic x Summersalt swimsuits come in a soft and summery print inspired by the lemon groves of Capri. All the suits in the collection pair perfectly with the The Long All Buttoned Up Cover-Up. With Giuliana’s new swimwear giving us major wanderlust for Capri, we asked her to share her best travel tips for the Italian island. If it’s on your bucket list, you’ll want to bookmark this guide immediately.

How to Get There

Giuliana assured us that it’s easier than ever to get to Capri. “There is a new nonstop flight from Newark to Naples, and we took it two weeks ago,” she told us. Once you arrive, you can travel from Naples by car, bus, or ferry to Capri and the rest of the Amalfi Coast.

Where to Stay

Vacation rental or hotel? Well, the island is small, and Giuliana recommends any of the few hotels on Capri. “We have stayed at various ones throughout the years. You can’t go wrong!”

Take a little boat into the beautiful Blue Grotto. Sit in the main piazza every night and enjoy a nice glass of Prosecco or an Aperol Spritz. Grab a cone of gelato and walk around window shopping.

Where to Eat

Giuliana gave us these two favorites:

Da Paolino: Everyone refers to this place as the lemon tree restaurant, according to Giuliana. “The food is amazing, and you sit in a lemon tree orchard, which is really beautiful,” she said, adding: “Oh, and did I mention they have a dessert room? Yes, a whole room dedicated to desserts.” We’re sold.

Da Giorgio: Giuliana loves the pizza and pasta here: “tutto bene!”

What to Do

We’ll just let Giuliana describe the perfect vacation on Capri: “Take a little boat into the beautiful Blue Grotto. Sit in the main piazza every night and enjoy a nice glass of Prosecco or an Aperol Spritz. Grab a cone of gelato and walk around window shopping while walking past all the beautiful boutiques.” Sounds like heaven.

What to Pack

“I would pack my new Capri-inspired one piece and two piece as well as my chic white cover-up,” Giuliana told us. “The bright yellow belt will look so chic against the backdrop of the beautiful lemons that the island is known for.”

If you can’t make it to Italy to see those lemon groves yourself, Giuliana’s Capri-inspired swimwear collection is the next best thing.
