My Stress-Free Packing Strategies for a Long Weekend
Never overpack again (unless you want to).
In an outfit rut? There’s an app for that.
In decades past, you’d look to magazines or window displays to find summer inspiration in the form of warm-weather outfits, makeup looks, or shopping tips. But like many trends, Instagram has become the ultimate hub for ingenuity—sartorial or otherwise. When I find myself staring into the abyss that is my closet for hours on end, I often grab my phone and scroll through Instagram: not my feed, but rather, my saved posts. I have folders for outfits by season, makeup looks by product, vacation spots by continent, and even just photos that I find inspiring or want to recreate with my own twist.
In fact, ever since I moved to Los Angeles, I’ve found myself bookmarking summer inspiration all year-round. It’s not that it’s actually warm enough to wear a bathing suit in January, but it’s not entirely out of the question to style a triangle top as a shirt, or to stage a fun photoshoot on the rocks of Matador Beach along the coastline in November—or to plan a weekend trip to a nearby beach town. I never pack my one-pieces in storage just in case I find an excuse to swap one in as a bodysuit on a warm autumn day.
Sure, this isn’t a definitive list for the best people to follow for summer inspiration—but it’s a great start for anyone that’s feeling prosaic or stuck as you refrigerator-stare into your own closet, desperate for a little creative buzz, or looking for an impetus to book a vacation. Ahead, the 9 people I love to follow for a summer-themed spark.
Hannah Faith Lord, @hannahfaithlord
A sometimes-model with a keen eye for the elegant, photographer and creative director Hannah Lord is a must-have follow all year-round. Still, her summer-centric photos, taken largely on Los Angeles’s coastline, will serve as the best beach inspiration you could ask for.

LA native Olivia Lopez is a creative strategist and writer living in NYC—though you can’t often find her there. The founder of Bon Weekender, a lifestyle destination that explores travel through the lens of design, Lopez is often heading from one European city to the next, with stops in Oaxaca, Guerrero, and beyond. Follow her the ultimate bucket list—plus what to wear when you get there.

Curve model and on-air personality Kristina Zias knows how to summer. In addition to co-hosting the Confident Collective podcast, Zias’s feed is a constant mix of style inspiration, clothing hauls, and a lesson in how to be confident at the beach and beyond. Raeann Langas, @raeannlangas
Raeann Langas is the other half of the Confident Collective podcast, and her feed offers a truly endless amount of summer outfit, beauty, and shopping inspiration. A curve model by trade, Langas is always having the most fun—while

Model Abisola Omole is the founder of Studio Arva, a lifestyle store & interior design studio. National Park Service, @nationalparkservice
Ok, the National Park Service isn’t a person—but it is one of my absolutely favorite accounts to follow all year-round. Don’t sleep on this one.
Jordan Risa, @jordanrisa
It’s impossible to scroll past any of Jordan Santos’s posts without stopping, at least for a moment. The founder of @seenlibrary, a book exchange and appreciation page for the written word, Jordan’s constantly using her platform to effect change while inspiring a stylish well-rounded lifestyle. Besides, as a fellow petite, her inventive styling hacks are reason enough to add her to your moodboard.
Courtnee Crews, @courteecrews
Following LA-based content creator Courtnee Crews is like getting a little hit of dopamine every time she graces your feed. A proponent of saccharine details like bows and lace, Crews offers endless beauty and style inspiration of the colorful, maximalist variety. Follow her to see how she mixes prints and colors in exciting, inspiring ways.
